PROJECT RED DRESS

Gala Event to Benefit The American Heart Association

Friday, January 25th, 2008 – 5:30 - 9 pm

Macy’s Seattle – Stewart Street Room

 

What: A glamorous evening of fashion entertainment culminating the creative and resourceful design efforts over 4 weeks of selected contestants (at least 10) representing Pacific Northwest schools that offer studies in design technology. Each student uses 10 yards of red fabric (their choice) to create the best dress ever. A special panel of judges will select the Best Red Dress.  Guests at the event will also vote for their favorite dress for a “people’s choice” award. The winning designer will receive a $3000 design school scholarship and a Macy's window display.

 

Tickets will be sold on-line thru Seattle Metropolitan: $35 for students, $50 for general public. $50 tickets include Macy’s gift card. Guests will be asked to wear red. Evening includes: a cocktail hour, and fashion competition with runway show and designer interviews.

 

Why: To encourage and showcase the most fabulous and promising new fashion designers in the Northwest, and to raise awareness and funds for the American Heart Association.
